The Art of Giving until it Hurts and Destroys

There’s a beautiful message out there in the world that if you give unconditionally then it comes back to you often tenfold.

A magical message that, similar to the Secret most people deliver without covering the whole picture, the other side of the coin, which for some people who listen to the half message, results in very unfortunate outcomes.

People are giving until they are without, they struggle to survive, they believe that sacrificial is good. They give, give, give unconditionally – and yes this is especially true of women. They give until it hurts them, without thought for self-care and self-worth. Because they are constantly being told it’s the right thing to do.

You see, most people don’t finish the sentence. Give unconditionally and without expectation, receive unconditionally and without expectation and have unconditionally and without expectation – then abundance flows and grows.

As with all things it’s about balance and flow. From an energetic perspective it’s about allowing the flow, and the fair exchange of energy.

Our thoughts and beliefs and values create our reality.

If we believe we are meant to give, give, give, in order to live the perfect life of goodness and spirituality, without accepting that part of the balance is to receive and have then we give ourselves away. We give away our value and worth and end up wondering why the universe/god is not supporting us, after all we are doing what we’ve been told and what we believe to be right and good.

And Having? Why is having so important?

This one has been my own personal realisation, light-bulb moment, nemesis.

You see I have been a giver and eventually I learned the open to receive part and yet little changed.

Why?

Because no sooner had I received I would give it away – in all manner of ways. I hadn’t given myself permission to have. I didn’t value myself enough for me to have for me first.

It all came out in an exercise of simply keeping 10% of everything that came in, 10% of everything I earned for me to HAVE.
You put it in a box, a bank account and you simply have it. You can invest it in Gold or Silver or assets and you never give away the capital sum – it just grows every time something comes to you. 10% of everything.

This is how you build personal wealth.
You can give freely with the rest. The receiving and HAVING is crucial though.

Do you know how difficult I found this?

Give it a try – no excuses about how little you receive now. You will constantly be where you are until you acknowledge you are worth HAVING for.

So my rant?

Talking purely about giving unconditionally is like promoting food and forgetting water.
From one who literally gave away everything over and over again before she figured it out, please give the full message.

I hope this message is valuable to someone.

With huge love and positive intention.

Heather

Going Right Back to The Beginning to Get Your Business On-line.

To me, the change to business that the Internet has brought about in recent years has created a global shift and an opening up to allow things that were more difficult before.

What do I mean?
It has opened up a wave of creativity, a move from the logical and stiff structure to the finding your voice, revealing the authentic you, finding your passion, your message, informally and unashamed sharing with the world.

  • If you’re a writer your words can be read by millions.
  • If you’re a singer your song s can be shared across the globe
  • If you’re a musician you can share your passion and play to millions
  • If you are a teacher you can teach across the world
  • If you’re a coach you can coach groups at a time and help them shift in their lives.
  • If your’re technical you can write software, creat designs, invent and get your goods out there in a way that has never been possible before.

This is why helping people get out and achieve this there is my passion.

And I begin right back at the beginning. Getting you to uncover what you want to share, what you want to express, where your passion lies and who is the authentic you?

Why?

Once you have your story, your strengths and your passions uncovered, then we can work on building a business, using the internet and technologies, Social Media and Product launches to help you to reach those who need you, your perfect customers. You will then be delivering authentically, aligned with your values, doing what you love for people who have been waiting for you to show up.

Then there’s the business stuff, the strategy, the planning , the awareness building, creating your following, your products, your conversion systems and moulding it to fit your life – the life you want.

This is why I’m Passionate About Technology, the Internet and Social Media

On a day when policing of the internet is at the heart of the news I pray that we do not lose what we have just gained.

The internet is truly the way that we can change the world through communities and minds connecting and sharing to create a brighter future.

Yes I am aware that the Internet is not all good, yet it has the power to unleash individuals from a bleak future imposed on them by the systems that are failing. And those same systems are aiming to restrict and control a revolution they are only now waking up to. The freedom to create you life and express the best version of you without barriers and boundaries, other than those you impose upon yourself.

I see so much potential, so much good as we move into a new age of authenticity and individuality. And it is my desire to help individuals and companies to serve the world in as big a way as they want to.

I hope you’ll join me in my dream of making the world a better place.

Do you Have Hidden Treasures?

What have you collected from the past? What mementoes and trinkets do you hold onto?

I ask because I have very little from my past and yet I know I have the important things with me.
I haven’t seen my ‘treasures’, the things I decided were important enough to cling to for over six years.

Now most, de-clutter specialists would say that if I haven’t seen them in six years I don’t need them.

  • I don’t have pictures of my son growing up and those magic ‘firsts’ he made.
  • I don’t have pictures of me growing up, with my first dog and me sitting wide-eyed on the sofa.
  • I don’t have my Judo certificates, or my A-level and O-level certificates.
  • I don’t have the music I listened to through the years, or the favourite vase I had.
  • I don’t have my collection of cookery books and kitchen equipment I loved.

And I haven’t felt sad about it until now. And yes I’ve decided I may not need them, but I’d like them.

 The ‘Story Finder Process’

I’m working on my ‘Story Finder Process’ – a product of mine, and it has really highlighted that while we are required to let a lot of things go, parts of me are still energetically tangled in that collection of ‘stuff’ I held on to.

Yes I’ve probably paid for the contents three times over yet some of them are truly irreplaceable to me.

I haven’t lost it all – I believe it’s still waiting for me to go and sort it out in Durban, SA.

And mixed within that treasure trove of what’s left of my past are a few memories of why my stuff is in South Africa and of the man who invited me there.

Yes we must move from the past and create new and amazing futures, but it’s good now and then to respect where we have been, who we have been and who with.

One day soon I’ll get to unpack and to sort through the things that are now meant for a different life, a different version of me I could never have imagined. And still some things will be precious reminders that I have lived.

If you’re interested in The Story Finder Process, drop me and email at Heather@heatherbond.me and I’ll send you the details.

It has never been so important to tell your story as it is now.

Remember When You Succeeded?

Greatest Successes

It’s easy to forget your achievements and successes — whether it’s being a parent, running a marathon, achieving something small yet important, or taking the first steps to start your own business.
Our successes are personal to us and we all define success differently. There is no right or wrong. How we feel about a successful moment tends to include a feeling of satisfaction, pride, accomplishment.

It’s a worthwhile exercise to really take time out to document those things you have achieved in your life that made you proud, that you did against the odds, where you stepped out of your comfort zone.

You can include some of these in your on-line profiles, as evidence when attracting clients or when applying for work.

Keeping the details in a journal creates a resource that you can come back to when maybe things aren’t going so well and you could do with reminding of how amazing you really are!

The important thing about your greatest successes is how they make you feel now as you look back.

So, let’s get to your greatest successes.

In your journal, use the age ranges and see if you can’t come up with at least on greatest success for each age span.

I’d like you to specifically take note of events that occurred in the following time blocks.

Allow your unconscious to come up with the answers and you may be surprised to come up with events from the first range.

Time Ranges
Prenatal Conception to birth

  • Infancy and Birth–2 years
  • Early childhood 2–6 years
  • Middle childhood 6–11 years
  • Adolescence 11–18
  • Early adulthood 18–40 years
  • Middle adulthood 40–65 years
  • Late adulthood 65 years–death

Describe the success in as much detail as possible. Include what you saw, what you went through, what you heard, the emotions, the challenge and what motivated you. What was your why? Tell the story of your achievement and if you have some sort of evidence, photo or keepsakes then find it to go with your story.

Make sure to include how YOU made a difference, what you overcame or what was extraordinary and describe what made you proud.

Are you Open to Change or Transformation?

I’m being a little indulgent in this post and exploring something that has challenged me for many months.

If you’ve read a few of the earlier posts on my blog you will know that I’ve gone through a massive period of self-discovery and examination and a period of finding my own voice over the past 2 years since my partner died suddenly.
And I thought I had it sorted.
Except over the last two to three months I’ve gone through even more shifts.

Letting Go Again

What I have discovered is that I haven’t had to simply make changes to get the results I want in my life, I’ve had to transform.
I’ve had to let go of the ideas about me I held as true and let go of the old goals that got me through the last 2 years, that gave me the focus and motivation to carry on.

I’ve had to let go of old patterns of thinking and hopes and dreams.

I’ve been sitting on the fence of confusion and conflict too scared to commit to where I can most help and combine my skills and talents, to reach the greatest audience and make the biggest difference, just in case somehow I got it wrong.

I have taken Part…

I have dabbled, I have learned, I have challenged myself and pushed beyond personal boundaries as I encourage everyone to do on their path of growth.

And behind the scenes I overcome some tough personal challenges to get to where I am, comfortable to accept the transformation.

To get to the point where I acknowledged my skills and talents and where I clearly see they fill a need, where they help people in a different way, my unique way, I have just had to let go.

I’m giving myself permission to come from my voice again (I acknowledge that hasn’t always happened in the last few weeks of transition) and to play at 100% with my new voice and direction.

Transformation

I feel the world is transforming, my friends are transforming and embracing a life different from the one they imagined.

I guess that’s the power, knowing when to let go of your own fixed expectations to allow something greater than you ever imagined to take their place.

I begin to share the results of my transformation this week on this blog and on social media.

For you…

I invite you to  check if you’re making things tough for yourself by holding on to a dream that’s no longer valid for you and just maybe that thing you don’t think you’re quite good enough for is the thing you’re perfect at.

Have an amazing week!

Do you need and won’t receive?

When you are offered help, how often do you refuse?
When you desperately need money and someone offers to help do you refuse?

When your friends need help how often are you the first to offer?
If someone needs help financially and you’re in a position to help how often do you offer?

How do you feel when you know you‘ve helped someone? Do you think others would feel the same way if you allowed them to help you?

Do you think that in refusing the gifts others offer you, you are refusing the gifts from the universe?

The universe doesn’t always offer the solution you want but rather the solution you need. Be open to the gifts being offered and you’ll be surprised by what shows up!

How to Change Your Mind for Better Results

Have you ever found yourself constantly feeling stuck around a situation, or not being able to move forward in a discussion or negotiation in order to reach a solution?

What if you could create an alternative result that would move you forward or instantly come up with options from a stuck place?

Reframing

Reframing is a powerful coaching and NLP technique that assists you to quickly achieve a mind shift that frees you to get the results you want or to find a solution that you just couldn’t see.

Reframing in NLP is a linguistic tool which we can use to quickly and easily change the meaning of things, so that we can change our response/behaviour/outcome.

Context Reframe

The frame is also the context. We give something meaning from the context/frame we have a round it.

For instance eating fish and chips with your hands in a fish and chip shop is perfectly acceptable while eating fish and chips with your hands at the Ritz is not. It’s the same behaviour in a different frame/context.

Questions to ask yourself in this situation are, where would this behaviour be acceptable?
When would that behaviour be effective?
Where would this be an appropriate response?
What behaviour would be more effective?
What would be an appropriate response?

Content/meaning reframe.

In this reframe we change the meaning of the behaviour. So for instance if you’ve had a bad day and your partner comes home from work and watches TV you may choose that this means they don’t care, they’re not attentive to you.
On another day when you yourself are busy the same behaviour would probably go unnoticed.

If you have a problem or you’re feeling stuck you might say something like…
‘Whenever X happens I respond Y’

Questions you may ask yourself  - What else could this behaviour mean?
What is it that I haven’t noticed (in this context) that will bring about a different meaning and therefore allow me a different response (behaviour)?

E.g. What is it that I haven’t noticed about my partner watching TV at the end of the day (that they’re relaxing and it’s only for a short time) that will bring about a different meaning (they just want to unwind before we have ‘us’ time) and therefore allow me a different response (I don’t mind that – they love me enough to unwind first so that we listen to each other).

Reframing allows us to give a different meaning to our experience and therefore reach a different result/response (behaviour)/outcome.

How can you apply this to areas  where you aren’t getting the results you’ve been hoping for?

Are You Stuck and Finding it Tough to Move Forward? Could You Be Resisting the Flow and Resisting Systems?

When you look at the planet and you take a long hard look at nature, it is made up of flawless systems which are in flow with the unseen energy of intuition and telepathic communication. Bees and ants for instance, carry out seemingly miraculous feats naturally and effortlessly. It’s when you work a system, in flow and intuitively that balance brings about amazing results.

Flow and Systems are Possible in Everything

And this goes for everything. It goes for your business, your health, your relationship, your family. Working out systems (habits, routines, processes) that work you and practicing them intuitively.

Take Health for instance. If you followed  a system of only buying what is good for your body and stopping to think about what your body feels like after eating certain foods, it would be easier to choose a diet that suited you.

In work if we find something that works then turn it into a system or process so you’re effortlessly performing repeatable tasks rather than stressfully reinventing.

In relationships, take the time to work out how you best work together. What are each other’s strengths and where can you help each other out? What takes you half the time it takes your partner?

Go With the Flow While Working the System

These are just some basic examples of working with the flow rather than against it.

Nature created magical systems. Be aware of these and respect them.
In some ways most animals are wiser than us. They know when they’ve taken enough. They know how to support for the good of all. They acknowledge and know that they are important to the system, to the whole. They don’t need to be told, they intuitively KNOW it.

Just remember to listen, to become aware, to be present. Know when you’re forcing and when you’re flowing. Know when to stop and allow. Mother Nature and the Universe can provide in greater ways than we can. Allow the flow and the magic and equally know when to action the system, and support the flock/community.
