Sometimes you can push yourself hard at something and not realise your ladder is up against the wrong wall.
Sometimes you can push yourself so hard and deep down never believe you’re going to succeed, so no matter how hard you try you prove yourself right.
Sometimes you keep on going because it’s all you have to hold on to and you’re scared to check out anything else.
Sometimes you’re playing out your inability to complete.
Sometimes you keep on going because you absolutely know you’re going to succeed and in the toughest moments, when all looks bleak, one final push, and you do!
So how do you know the difference?
You check in with your gut, your intuition, your beliefs and alignment at each stage of the journey.
It’s about weighing up the ‘never quit’ with the good sense to let go when you’re ‘beating a dead horse’ (I dislike that phrase – and I can’t think of another right now).
Sometimes it’s a subtle difference and some times it’s glaringly obvious.
Why did I start?
Where am I in my belief that I can succeed?
What’s out of my control?
What’s in my control?
What can I do to succeed?
Is it time to review and close?
What have I learned?
What do I know in my heart?
