Here we are at the beginning of June, dreaming of summer days, holidays, relaxing, easing into the flow of the holiday feel… Well maybe.
Or, like me, you could be reviewing your year. looking back at the goals and resolutions you set at the beginning of the year and checking in to see what you’ve achieved.
I know there are things on my list that I have been avoiding. Like getting fit and eating healthier.
I’m not sure why these things have been a challenge to me. I do get it’s partly to do with not wanting to step up, a kind of fear of success.
And Enough is enough.
I declared at the beginning of the year that 2015 was going to be the year I broke the mould on those destructive patterns and self-sabotage I’ve kind of grown accustomed to.
And I have attended challenging NLP courses and pushed myself beyond my comfort zone.
And then I’d come home and find the demands of my life here quickly spirals me back into doing as I’ve become accustomed to doing, putting others first and not pushing myself to get the results I want in my life and business.
I sat down in a field a couple of days ago. There was no one around. It was just me and the dogs and the fresh air, stillness and sounds of nature. I paused to look at where I’ve been taking my life. I am after all the director and leading role. Except that’s not how I’ve lived. And there it was, a clear moment of decision when I chose to commit to the vision I have held for myself and have been putting off for over a decade.
So everything is different for me.
I will no longer tolerate shabbiness for myself, from me. It’s time I respected, believed in and trusted myself. After all, when it comes down to it, I’m all I truly have.
What have you been Putting off?
Do a quick review and be honest with yourself. Notice the things you’ve been putting off.
Those goals you’ve had and haven’t even attempted. The ones that are in your list of ‘shoulds’.
The ones you’ve tucked away and only bring out on odd occasions when someone else decides they’re doing something about their own similar goal.
I created this hangout and worksheet to help make meeting your goals easier.
Apologies for the poor picture quality. You should get the feeling for it anyway.
And if you like it let me know. I’d love to hear if it helped 🙂
Here’s the worksheet…
